Titans blitz South Allegheny in high school bowling

The West Mifflin High School bowling team traveled to Playmor bowl on Feb 2nd to compete against South Allegheny.

The Girls Varsity team improved its section record to 6-2 with an impressive 7-0 win over the ladies from South Allegheny

The 1st game went to the Lady Titans 811-524.  Becky Harmening continued her hot hand with a 223 game, she was assisted by Liz Morrison 167 and Steph Mittenzwey 172. High for South Allegheny  was  Alexis Goucker with a 169.  Game 2 went to the Lady Titans 824-459.  Becky Harmening led the way with a 201, other highs were Liz Morrison’s 191 led the way, other highs were Steph Mittenzwey 186, Becky Harmening 172 and Kayla Swiech 179.  Topping South Allegheny was Alexis Goucker with a 159.  The Titans completed the sweep taking game 3, 804 – 485.  Liz Morrison top the scoring with 188, Becky Harmening shot a 185,  Kayla Swiech 161 and Steph Mittenzwey 175 for the Ladies.  South Allegheny  was led in game 3 by Alexis Goucker 166 and Carleigh DeSue 155.   Becky Harmening finished the day with a 609 Series

The boys squad rolled to an easy victory over South Allegheny with a total pinfall count of 3036 – 2353.  In game one Justin Hoffman 245 and Tommy Forster 242 lit up the score board as the Titans won 1039 – 788.  Also breaking the 200 barrier was Alex Houston with a 206. Devin Miller 203 and Jonny Sakelson 193 led South Allegheny.  In game two West Mifflin Alex Houston tossed a 232, and T.J. Nassida threw a 224. to win 1020-758  South Allegheny Highs were Devin Miller 185 and Nathaniel 180.  Justin Hoffman led the way in game three with a 215, Alex Houston 207 and Tommy Forster 201 as the Titans completed the sweep 977-806.  Devin Miller. tossed a 183 to lead South Allegheny.  Alex Houston finished the day with a 645, while Justin Hoffman had 655 and Tom Forster 634.  The boys varsity with the win moved to 6-2 in the Central section of the WPIBL.

The boys JV squad won over South Allegheny  by a score of 7-0.  Highs for the junior Titans were Cody Brown 219, Brandon GLoeckl 180, Jon Schmidt 207-179, Brian Philips 184-18, T.J. Nassida 211 and Nate Missig 163.

The Titans host Seton LaSalle on Wednesday 2/9 at Coral Lanes and finish the regular season traveling to North Versailles on Wednesday 2/16 to compete against Serra Catholic.
